Maisie Boesiger recently reflected on her journey at Nebraska Volleyball and highlighted the moments she misses the most. Boesiger spent her whole college career on the Nebraska Women’s Volleyball team. She competed for the Big Red team for four years after joining it in 2022 as a freshman.
Although Boesiger was a setter during her high school career, she transitioned to libero so she could compete for the Huskers. She made her debut and played as a serving specialist in her freshman year.
Along with showing her remarkable skills in the competitive arena, Boesiger was also known for her joyous nature and bringing positive energy to training. Her former teammate, Lexi Rodriguez, once praised Boesiger for always portraying her true self even on social media.
Boesiger last competed for the Nebraska team in December during the NCAA regional final against Texas A&M, which they lost. In a recent interview with Hail Varsity, when asked about what she misses the most about competing on the Big Red team, the former Husker said:
“Seeing everyone, seeing everyone everyday and locker room just been able to walk in and talk about my day or ask other people about their day and just the everyday interactions with my best friends.”
Boeisiger recently bought a new house along with her fiancé, Nolan Schwarting.
Former Nebraska Volleyball Player Maisie Boesiger Opens Up On Why She Never Thought Of Leaving the Huskers Team During Transfer Portals
Former Nebraska Volleyball player Maisie Boesiger recently opened up about her loyalty towards the Huskers program when asked why she never thought about changing the program even during the massive buzz of transfer portals. She highlighted that more than losses and victories, she valued the relations she developed during her collegiate career.
“There’s no place like Nebraska and that sounds so cheesy. It’s said over and over but it’s so true. I loved the people here. I loved every part of my journey and it’s not always about how much playing time you have or if you have a starting role. It’s about the people you’re with the memories that you’re gonna have because now looking back my career’s over. It doesn’t neccessarily matter the plays whatever the some of the outcomes but what matters is the memories and the friendships I’m gonna hold on to for the rest of my life and I know I hit the jackpot with the people that were there. So, I’m thankful for that.
The Nebraska Women’s Volleyball team recently recorded a second consecutive transfer portal with zero exits.
