“I know I hit the jackpot” – Maisie Boesiger Opens Up About Staying Loyal To Nebraska Volleyball Despite Trend In Transfer Portals

Maisie Boesiger recently opened up on why she stayed loyal to the Nebraska Volleyball team throughout her collegiate career. She commenced her collegiate journey by joining the Huskers in 2022 as a freshman and went on to represent the team till 2025, her senior year.

Before joining the Big Red team, the Firth, Lincoln, native competed as a setter in high school. However, Boesiger agreed to transition to libero in order to join the Cornhuskers squad. She showed her determination for the Big Red team during all four years of her college career.

In Boesiger’s last season with the team, she played in 33 sets and recorded 23 digs, five assists, and one ace. Her greatest achievement during the college journey was contributing to the team’s efforts in reaching the NCAA Championships final. She last competed for the team during the 2025 NCAA regional final, which the Huskers lost against Texas A&M.

In a recent interview with Hail Varsity, when asked to shed light on her loyalty towards the Big Red team despite the ongoing transfer portal buzz, Boeisger reflected on the strong relations she built with her teammates, which, according to her, are more valuable than any outcomes.

“There’s no place like Nebraska, and that sounds so cheesy. It’s said over and over, but it’s so true. I loved the people here. I loved every part of my journey, and it’s not always about how much playing time you have or if you have a starting role. It’s about the people you’re with the memories that you’re gonna have because now looking back my career’s over. It doesn’t neccessarily matter the plays whatever the some of the outcomes but what matters is the memories and the friendships I’m gonna hold on to for the rest of my life and I know I hit the jackpot with the people that were there. So, I’m thankful for that.

A few days back, Boeisger expressed her interest in working for the marketing of LOVB.

Nebraska Volleyball Player Bergen Reilly Reflects On Huskers Recording Zero Transfers For Second Year

Nebraska volleyball player Bergen Reilly recently opened up on the Big Red Team recording zero exits for the second consecutive season. No players, including Kenna Cogill, Teraya Sigler, and Ryan Hunter, left the Huskers squad during the first transfer portal, which ended on January 15, 2026.

In an interview with Hurrdat Sports, Reilly opined that since the program has great culture, passionate fans, and strong teammates, the players have no intention of transferring.

“Why would you wanna leave? We have the best fans in the country. We have such a great culture like we’re playing with our best friends. We have such a great staff that just really love us and care about us and so I think that it’s we don’t really talk about it. It’s just kind of like a everybody knows that Nebraska’s where they wanna be.”

The upcoming transfer portal will be held between May 1 and 15.
