Azzi Fudd Takes Valentine’s Duty as UConn Staff Receives Special Gift Before Creighton Clash

UConn Huskies guard Azzi Fudd recently showed a heartwarming gesture to the staff members of her program ahead of their latest regular-season game. On Wednesday, Feb. 11, Fudd and the rest of coach Geno Auriemma‘s Huskies faced coach Jim Flanery’s Creighton Bluejays on the former’s home floor, the Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut.

But before the game, which is scheduled at the tail end of this year’s conference play, Fudd decided to personally hand over Valentine’s Day gifts to staff members of the University of Connecticut program. This was captured in a photo posted to X/Twitter by user @maggie_vanoni, as Fudd was seen wearing a black hoodie while holding a brown cardboard box and was presumably walking around the pavilion.

Gestures like these showcase the kind of bond that Fudd and the entire UConn community share. After all, the senior has played her entire collegiate basketball tenure with the Huskies, from 2021 to 2026. The 2025-26 campaign is Fudd’s fifth and final year with the team, as she hopes to leave a lasting impression beyond the court once she calls it a career at UConn.

As it currently stands, Fudd and the rest of coach Auriemma’s team are aiming for back-to-back national championships, as they are the defending national champions. They won their program’s 13th title in the 2024-25 season by defeating coach Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks by 23 points, 82-59. Fudd would hope to close out her collegiate career with a second national championship.

The UConn Huskies Cruise Through The Creighton Bluejays By 50 Huge Points

What followed Azzi Fudd’s heartfelt gesture towards the UConn Huskies staff was a total domination of their opponent, the Creighton Bluejays, in front of their team’s faithful. The Huskies defeated the Bluejays by a staggering 50 points, 94-44, as they never lost their lead in the game.

In fact, it was Fudd who scored the game’s first couple of points, and the Huskies never looked back after that.

Fudd finished the matchup with 19 points on an efficient 8-for-13 clip, to go along with four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block in 28 minutes of playing time.
