Dre Greenlaw Landing Spots: 5 Teams That Could Target the Former Broncos LB

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw signed a three-year, $35 million contract with the Denver Broncos last offseason. After one season with the team, playing just eight games due to a torn Achilles injury, the Broncos announced that they released Greenlaw with a post-June 1 designation.

The Broncos had until the fifth day of the new league year, or March 15 to made a decision on keeping Greenlaw or not, and would have triggered a $2 million bonus to him. A few quad injuries plagued his season as well as a one-game suspension.

Greenlaw recorded 43 tackles, two pass deflections, an interception, and a forced fumble last season with the Broncos. Though he has health concerns, Greenlaw should have some interest in free agency, and probably at a discounted price.

5 Teams That Could Target Dre Greenlaw

Here are five teams that could be interested in adding Greenlaw to their team:

    #1 – Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost one of the best linebackers in free agency when Devin Lloyd signed with the Carolina Panthers. They’ll need to replace Lloyd and maybe one option on the cheaper side is Greenlaw.

    #2 – San Francisco 49ers

Back where it all started. Many San Francisco 49ers fans would like this signing, if Greenlaw can stay healthy. Greenlaw recorded back-to-back 120+ tackle seasons in 2022 and 2023 in San Fran and if he gets eased back into their system, maybe he can revive his career and thrive where it all began.

    #3 – Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans have been adding free agent defensive players left and right. Why not add another former player that played for new head coach Robert Saleh, even if it is for a veteran presence purpose?

    #4 – Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have a few free agent linebackers- Matt Milano and Shaw Thompson. In the case that the team doesn’t bring either back, they could plug in Greenlaw for a cheaper price to fill one of those two voids.

    #5 – Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys need more help at the linebacker position. Yes, they’ve addressed other needs such as edge rusher (Rashan Gary) and safety (Jalen Thompson) but they still need help at the linebacker position. Jerry Jones has been more aggressive in adding productive pieces in free agency and maybe he adds Greenlaw to the mix.
