New York Giants offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor has
predicted his home country will win their upcoming game against Mexico in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Through his X/Twitter account on Saturday, July 4, Eluemunor predicted England will win 2-0 against Mexico, one of this year’s co-hosts, despite playing at the Estadio Banorte in Mexico. The stakes couldn’t be higher, as the winner will move on to the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
Since then, though, several of Eluemunor’s followers
disagreed with his prediction and are saying otherwise. The former Texas A&M Aggies standout has since responded to this through another post on X/Twitter. There, Eluemunor acknowledged that several of his followers may actually be fans of Mexico, so he wished them well. Still, Eluemunor asserted that England will win on Sunday, July 5.
“Oooof got some interesting comments on my tweet about England beating Mexico at the Azteca! 😂 I’ll say this, if any of my Giants fans are also Mexico fans then may the best team win! Now my non Giants fans this is for you…Respectfully England belt to *** come Sunday 🏴🏴🏴,” Eluemunor wrote.
“Can’t wait to watch England beat Mexico at the world famous Estadio Azteca…Altitude this, home field advantage that. 2-0 England to Silence the Haters 🏴,” Eluemunor previously said.
Eluemunor is of English descent, having been born in London, England, to his Nigerian father and English mother. The 31-year-old eventually moved to the United States, where he spent high school and college. Today, Eluemunor is coming off his eighth season in the NFL and looking forward to his ninth campaign later this year. Throughout the offseason, he has actively supported his home country in the World Cup.
Jermaine Eluemunor also asserted that he was born in London, England
“So for anyone who doesn’t know I was BORN in London, England lol. I’m not just some Random crazy England fan 🏴,” Eluemunor shared.

It seems several onlookers were not aware that Jermaine Eluemunor is actually from London, England, and that is where his support for England stems from. As a result, Eluemunor
uploaded another post on X/Twitter. There, he asserted that he was born in England and is not just some random fan.
