“Let Me Keep My $6M”: Fans Aren’t Buying Brendan Sorsby’s Claim of Completing Gambling Treatment

Brendan Sorsby’s problems are far from finished. After getting himself into trouble with the NCAA for violating betting and gambling rules, he’s now seemingly done with a treatment program to get over the addiction issues he’s been having.

What should have been a happy moment for the Texas Tech star though, hasn’t quite panned out that way for multiple reasons.

A post of Sorsby confirming the end of the treatment has come under fire from fans who aren’t ready to believe that any issue has actually been solved.

“1 month later. I’ve never known anyone to break an addiction in 40 days,” one fan noted.

“Let me sum it up… sorry to everyone that I got caught, now please let me keep my $6 million,” another said.

“Talking about this like he’s addicted to wearing half a dozen Fentanyl patches a day is crazy work,” one more wrote.

“The stream of bullshit and theater with this guy is off the charts,” another commented.

“No one gets over addiction that quick. Not fooling anyone with your lies,” one more fan agreed.

Sorsby Can’t Play for the Red Raiders Yet

Despite his claim of being able, the NCAA still aren’t convinced about letting Brendan Sorsby play again, resulting in a statement from Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec firing back at the organization.

“Recently, the NCAA issued an initial ruling that Brendan is permanently ineligible to compete,” Schovanec said.

“Texas Tech will be appealing that decision. We believe that given the facts and the context of Brendan’s case, the NCAA’s ruling should be reversed or modified. As a generation of college athletes face the legalization and rapid proliferation of sports betting in our country, gambling addiction is rising to the point of epidemic among college aged men in particular.”

Where this goes from here is anyone’s guess.
