    Texas vs Michigan Game Summary

It was all about Madison Booker and company to start things off for the game, as after the Michigan Wolverines knotted the game up at 2-2, the Texas Longhorns went on a 10-0 run. The Wolverines’ next score came after the first TV timeout of the game, but Texas immediately retaliated and even extended its lead to as much as 14 points. From here, the Longhorns kept their double-digit edge afloat to end the first quarter up, 22-9.

In the second period, coach Vic Schaefer‘s team continued its scoring barrage as the Michigan-based program was scrambling to find a way to halt it. In the second quarter, the Wolverines were able to find the bottom of the net, but they could not stop Texas from scoring. Despite scoring the same amount of points in the frame, the Longhorns still led, 34-21, heading into the half.

It was more of the same to open the second half, as Texas was still comfortably in the driver’s seat. Coach Kim Barnes Arico‘s squad did have some adjustments in the game that caught the Longhorns by surprise early in the third frame, but it seemed the Wolverines were slowly losing steam, as Booker and the rest of the Texas-based program still found ways to execute. To end the third quarter, Michigan trailed, 55-29.

Come the fourth quarter, the Wolverines were vying to finish strong, given that they were already matched with a sizeable deficit. Texas elected to keep the pressure on to halt any chance at a disastrous comeback by Michigan. With this, the Longhorns’ advantage over the Wolverines kept growing, as the latter struggled to score throughout the layover period. After a dominant final period, Texas won by 36 points, 77-41.
