South Carolina Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley praised Aliyah Boston after witnessing her from courtside during Friday’s Unrivaled game featuring Phantom BC and Breeze BC.
Boston and Co. won the game, 71-68, following a two-point layup by Kelsey Plum. Boston was key in the win, finishing with 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. She is averaging 18.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in Unrivaled this season.
After the game, Dawn Staley shared a picture of herself and Boston on X and wrote a message highlighting Boston’s skill and her experience watching the 3v3 league.
“@aa_boston is sooooo freaking good!” Staley wrote. “And @Unrivaledwbb is unreal! The energy in the building tonight come on now Philly! When Philly loves it’s just different! Tune in because you are definitely missing out if you’re not!”
After Friday’s win, Phantom BC has improved to third in the league, a game and a half behind Laces BC in first. That marks a significant improvement from the team after it finished Unrivaled’s inaugural season in last place with a 4-10 record.
Boston and Co. will return to the court on Sunday to face Napheesa Collier’s Lunar Owls BC. Meanwhile, Staley will be focused on helping her South Carolina Gamecocks finish the season strong.
