Saturday night’s NCAA women’s basketball showdown saw the South Carolina Gamecocks continue their historic dominance over Kim Mulkey’s side as they beat the LSU Tigers in their own backyard with a scoreline of 79-72.
Mulkey, during her side’s all-important clash against the Gamecocks, lived up to her reputation of donning fashionable fits once again, as she was seen wearing a bright, almost fluorescent, pink outfit, perhaps an ode to Valentine’s Day.
The all-pink pantsuit also had black hearts designed all over it, with a tiger designed on her back. Mulkey and her fits have garnered a lot of attention from fashion aficionados watching the game, having also worn brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton in her previous outings.
Meanwhile, this win against the Tigers helps the Gamecocks continue to maintain their no. 1 spot in the SEC rankings with an 11-1 conference record and an overall record of 25-2. Meanwhile, the Louisiana-based program dropped down to the sixth spot in the SEC as they currently hold an overall record of 22-4, vying for a top 4 finish.
What Did Dawn Staley And The Gamecocks Wear Against LSU?
The South Carolina Gamecocks turned heads at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center courtesy of their interesting choice of outfits, referencing their last outing against the Tigers at Baton Rouge.
The South Carolina-based side was booed during their last appearance in Louisiana, which prompted Dawn Staley and her coaching staff to wear outfits with “Boo” illustrated on the front.
However, the Gamecocks not only won the fashion game last night, but they also continued their purple patch against the LSU Tigers. South Carolina now betters their head-to-head series against LSU with an overall record of 19-12, with LSU’s last victory against the Gamecocks coming all the way back in 2012.
Despite beating the Gamecocks twice during her time with the Baylor Bears, Kim Mulkey has yet to defeat Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley in LSU colors.
From a playoff perspective, LSU will now have to get back to winning ways as they face Ole Miss next.
