For the NCAA Women’s March Madness Round 2 game against Texas Tech on Sunday, LSU Head Coach Kim Mulkey showed up wearing a lavender-colored power suit with purple velvet flare-leg pants.
The blazer featured white peak lapels and solid white sleeves.
On the left chest area, the letters “LSU” were appliquéd. Yellow piping was visible near the shoulder seams with peplum flare at the hem.
Beneath the jacket, she wore a purple tank top.
Her whole look was a nod to LSU’s colors.
Mulkey’s No. 2-seeded Tigers are facing No. 7 seed Texas Tech Lady Raiders in the round of 32 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge.
The winner of this game will punch their ticket to the Sweet 16 in Sacramento.
LSU is coming off a massive 116-58 blowout win over Jacksonville in the first round, which took place on Friday.
For the game, Kim Mulkey was dressed in a light purple (lilac) blazer with flared white trousers. On the back of the blazer was a large tiger logo.
Beyond game day, Mulkey’s iconic outfits have also made an impact. Annually, LSU organizes “Dress Like Kim Mulkey” nights at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Kim Mulkey’s Pink Ribbon Blazer from Play4Kay Game Supports Good Cause
Kim Mulkey’s game-day outfits have become a fundraising tool for the LSU Tigers and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
On Jan. 30, the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team posted on Instagram that Mulkey’s game-worn jacket from the 2024-2025 season’s Play4Kay game will be auctioned to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund!
The jacket in question was a pink blazer adorned with multiple pink ribbons, each symbolizing breast cancer awareness.
The most famous instance of this occurred when she auctioned her jacket worn during the Coppin State vs. LSU game (Dec 20, 2023), which was a homecoming for star Angel Reese.
Kim Mulkey has been the head coach at LSU since April 2021. After spending 21 seasons at Baylor, she moved back to her home state of Louisiana.
Following her arrival, Mulkey led the team to a National Championship just two years later in 2023 by defeating Iowa.
The LSU coach grew up in Hammond, Louisiana and was a point guard for Louisiana Tech, where she won two national titles as a player (1981, 1982) and another as an assistant coach (1988).
