Flau’jae Johnson may be out of college and tearing it up in the WNBA, but her roots remain very much intact, staying true to her love for all things LSU. This was proven as LSU assistant coach Bob Starkey revealed a funny moment with the Seattle Storm star.
On the social media platform X, Starkey revealed a hilarious interaction in a post talking about the first-ever women’s basketball game held in the year 1892, less than a year after the sport of basketball itself was invented. The post was designed to be a recognition of the women’s game, but it turned into a hilarious moment as Flau’jae Johnson cracked a joke about her former coach around it.
“You was in attendance?” Johnson commented, resulting in Starkey posting the moment on X with his own message saying, “I am officially done with @Flaujae.”
Fans found the exchange extremely funny and left their feelings in the comments.
The hilarious exchange reflects the close bond between coach Starkey and Flau’jae, who clearly remain friends even with Johnson’s move up the ranks into the WNBA. Starkey himself has had a long association with LSU, first working with the men’s basketball team back in 1990.
Flau’jae Johnson Shines For Seattle Storm
Flau’jae Johnson showed her class on the basketball court as the Seattle Storm ran out comfortable winners against the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA on Monday.
Johnson, in particular, was on fire for the Storm, scoring 23 points, paving the way for a significant victory. Should Flau’jae Johnson continue her dominance on the court, she would be a serious contender for the WNBA Rookie of the Year.
