LOOK: Kim Mulkey And LSU Bench Go Wild As Grace Knox Scores Impressive Layup in Blowout Win vs Alabama

LSU Tigers coach Kim Mulkey and the rest of her bench were ecstatic after one of their active player, Grace Knox’s impressive display during their most recent regular-season game. On Sunday, Feb. 1, Mulkey and the rest of her Tigers thrashed Kristy Curry’s Alabama Crimson Tide 103-63 on their home floor, the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In a post by @secnetwork on Instagram, LSU freshman Knox attempted a contested fast-break layup at the 3:07 mark in the fourth quarter. Luckily for the young talent, she ended up converting the lay-in that was called for an and-one opportunity. With this, Mulkey and her players on the bench went up for a fiery celebration, which was complemented by LSU’s active players helping Knox get up.

Along with Knox’s late-game scoring play, transferee MiLaysia Fulwiley‘s behind-the-back pass to the corner to Jada Richard was included in the next slide of the social media post. Fulwiley’s flashy pass led to Richard sinking in the corner three-pointer. In the last slide, Richard had a behind-the-back pass of her own, this time to a trailing Bella Hines for a similar and-one conversion.

“LSU BY 40 😳 @lsuwbkb dominates No. 24 Alabama in Baton Rouge 🔥,” @secnetwork on Instagram captioned with a couple of emojis.

Mulkey and her bench seemed to have loads of energy, given the way they were celebrating. The Tigers are one of the top-tier programs this year in both the SEC and the entire college basketball landscape, as LSU looks to return to the collegiate basketball mountaintop for the first time since they won it all in 2023.

The LSU Tigers Dominated The Alabama Crimson Tide

In what ended up being a lop-sided affair, coach Kim Mulkey’s LSU Tigers defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide by an astounding 40 points, 103-63, at home.

This is the Tigers’ 21st victory of the year, as they now hold a seven-game winning streak and have not lost in almost a month. Currently, LSU has an overall record of 21-2 (7-2 SEC), and is the second seed in the SEC standings.
