UConn Huskies guard Azzi Fudd trolled her girlfriend, current Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers, as the latter recently attended UConn’s practice.
On Thursday, March 26, Fudd had her media availability following a practice session with her team ahead of their highly anticipated Sweet 16 game in this year’s national tournament.
In a video uploaded by user @azzifuddupdates_ on Instagram, Fudd was interviewed in her squad’s locker room area. She was asked about Bueckers, who is also her former teammate at UConn, as the latter joined the aforementioned practice session. The fifth-year standout affirmed that it felt like old times, but jokingly said that she did not do much against them.
“ It was really nice having her back. It felt like old times. She didn’t actually do anything because they were playing defense. So, she just sat next to the coach and did her thing, yapped the whole time. But, it definitely, like, it was nice to get a familiar face, definitely good vibes, and lots of smiles when she walked in,” Fudd said.

As mentioned, Bueckers used to play for the Huskies before graduating last year. In her final campaign with coach Geno Auriemma’s squad, which included Fudd, they went all the way to win the 2025 NCAA championship against the previous defending champions, the South Carolina Gamecocks. Bueckers has since taken her talents to the WNBA, where she was selected with the first overall pick in last year’s draft.
Perhaps Bueckers’ appearance during Fudd and the team’s recent practice session can serve as an inspiration in the latter’s quest for back-to-back national titles.

Azzi Fudd and the rest of the UConn Huskies are gearing up for the Sweet 16 game of the Regional 1 in Fort Worth of this year’s March Madness against coach Courtney Banghart’s North Carolina Tar Heels.
The game is set to be played on Friday, March 27, in neutral territory, the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Paige Bueckers will likely make an appearance since her WNBA franchise is in Texas.
