IN PHOTOS: LSU Coach Kim Mulkey Celebrates Granddaughter Sage’s Birthday With Adorable Tribute

LSU women’s basketball head coach Kim Mulkey celebrated her granddaughter Sage’s fifth birthday with a heartfelt post on Wednesday on Instagram.

“Five years of big hugs, bigger smiles, and a whole lot of love. Happy Birthday, Sage! Yaya loves you!!” Mulkey wrote alongside a collection of photos with the birthday girl.

The photo carousel gave a sneak peek to fans of the coach’s personal life and several cute family moments. The cutest moment was when Sage, her brother Kannon, and Mulkey enjoyed their time together on a beach.

Here’s a look at the sweet moments:

While Mulkey is known for her intense presence, strict coaching style and game-day fashion sense, her birthday post showed a softer side of her.

Over the last several years, Mulkey’s grandchildren have made frequent appearances at her games.

Sage was born in 2021 and is the younger of Mulkey’s two grandchildren. She is the daughter of Mulkey’s daughter, Makenzie Fuller.

LSU Women’s Basketball Set for the Upcoming Season

The SEC announced conference opponents for the Tigers’ 2026-27 season, giving LSU a clearer picture of its path ahead.

Home games: Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Auburn.

Away games: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee and Auburn.

The schedule ahead appears challenging, and Mulkey still has plenty of work to do if LSU hopes to make another deep run in the 2027 NCAA Tournament.

Led by MiLaysia Fulwiley, Grace Knox and Mikaylah Williams, LSU appears well-positioned to make a Final Four run, provided the team can capitalize on its potential. For now the coach can lay back and celebrate her granddaughter’s birthday as she starts preparation for the upcoming season.
