With most of the women’s basketball world waiting in anticipation, UConn Huskies guard Azzi Fudd did not disappoint with her outfit for this year’s WNBA Draft.
On Monday, Fudd was among the outstanding players selected to attend the draft, given that the Arlington, Virginia, native is projected to be selected among the top-five picks in the first round.
Fans were patiently waiting to see what Fudd would wear for one of the milestone events in her career. The Huskies star pulled up in a custom black and silver gown made by luxury fashion giant Chanel.
This was coupled with a one-of-a-kind Chanel handbag that followed the same color scheme. To finish off the outfit, Fudd wore a black pair of open-toed heels and had a black sash on her waist to balance the colors.
Fudd wrapped up her five-year tenure of collegiate basketball in the recently concluded 2025-26 season. In what was her final campaign with coach Geno Auriemma and his Connecticut-based program, the Huskies went all the way to the 2026 NCAA Final Four, where they lost to Dawn Staley’s Gamecocks. Still, Fudd possesses a national championship to her name, winning it all in the 2024-25 season.
Azzi Fudd Talks About How Excited She Was For Her Custom Draft Night Outfit
In a video uploaded by women’s sports reporter Pepper Persley on her Instagram account on Saturday, Azzi Fudd was seen at her pre-draft press conference.
Persley asked Fudd what the draft night preparations for her were and what kind of outfit can be expected from her. Fudd shared how excited she was for her outfit, but did not give too many details yet.
“It’s been kind of crazy, just like the transition from the end of the season to unpacking and saying goodbye and coming to New York while trying to figure out, and I’m someone who’s like very good with the flow and trying to like figure this stuff out. But, I am doing a deal with Coach, and so they’re making a custom outfit for me. And it’s actually not done yet, so I can’t give you too much details because I don’t know the full details, but I’m super excited. It’s going to look really cool,” Fudd shared. (0:11)
