Andraya Carter Spills the Beans on WNBA GM’s Outlook on South Carolina Star Raven Johnson’s Draft Stock

South Carolina Gamecocks star Raven Johnson is attracting plenty of attention with her performances during the 2025-26 college basketball season. The senior guard is averaging 10.2 points, four rebounds and 5.3 assists this season. Most recently in the Elite Eight win against TCU, she scored 10 points, grabbed eight boards and threw six assists.

On Tuesday, analyst Andraya Carter dropped an insight on what WNBA GMs think about Johnson’s profile. She had only good things to share.

“I’ve talked to a lot of GMs,” Carter said. “I think of one that I was on the phone with last week and this particular GM was like, man, I love Raven. And I’m like, yeah, how do you not love Raven? She’s a winner. She’s a winner and she’s grown so much offensively. I think it’s a testament to when a player grows offensively, you can trust their work ethic. She’s a leader. She’s a winner. Her teammates love to play with her. She’s an excellent defender.

“So there are a lot of things that I feel like coaches and GMs have seen this year from Raven. She was already checking a lot of boxes, but I think checking them in a bigger, stronger way for sure. But I’ve talked to a few GMs and yeah, there’s really not anything that they’re not impressed with about Raven.”

Raven Johnson Drops Insight On Winning Mindset During NCAA Tournament

Raven Johnson is South Carolina’s top scorer in the NCAA Tournament. She even won Sacramento 4 Regional’s MVP after wins over No. 4 Oklahoma and No. 3 TCU, where she combined for 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Last week, she was interviewed by NCAA.com’s Autumn Johnson, where she dropped thoughts on her mindset during March Madness.

“I’m in a zone of just winning,” Johnson said. “In my head. I’m just thinking whatever it takes to win. If that’s me defending the best player, if that’s me scoring, if that’s me trying to uplift my teammates. If that’s me having to sit on the bench if it’s not my day and somebody else on my team, it’s their day, I would do that. It doesn’t matter to me, but I’m in a headspace of winning. Whatever it takes to do I’m gonna do that.”

Johnson believes their team’s plus point is their chemistry and the coach has promoted such a mentality in the locker room.

With the Final Four game against UConn on the horizon, it’s time for Johnson to once again put on her shoes and dazzle the March Madness floor.
