Could Audi Crooks Land at LSU? Breaking Down Tigers’ Fit for Iowa State Star

Audi Crooks is undecided if she’ll return for the Iowa State Cyclones next season. Two of her teammates, starting forward Addy Brown and starting point guard Jada Williams, have already decided to enter the transfer portal.

This has given way to the possibility of the junior joining a national contender after a great season where she averaged 25.8 points (64.9% shooting), 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Could Audi Crooks Land at LSU?

Everyone knows how good LSU Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey is when she sets her eye on someone. She did the same with MiLaysia Fulwiley last season, bringing her aboard from South Carolina. Should Audi Crooks hit the transfer portal market, she would be the biggest star that Mulkey will try to bring to Baton Rouge.

Joining a program like LSU makes sense for Crooks, who might be compelled to avoid turning pro for another college basketball season. With LSU, Crooks will get more exposure, lead a national championship contender loaded with talent and elite recruiting.

Aside from that, Crooks would perfectly fit in Mulkey’s system. She is an elite low-post scorer and shoots at a high clip. Her dominant physical presence is envied by many forwards in the game. LSU also needs someone to dominate the paint and anchor the offense from there if needed.

Compared to Iowa State, Crooks will be relieved from scoring pressure since the Tigers are loaded with elite guards and wings. As a result, Crooks might not get double or triple-teamed like in Iowa State.

The NIL benefits are also huge with LSU, as joining them would give Crooks national exposure.

However, there are also areas where Crooks will need to adjust should she decide to join Kim Mulkey. LSU plays fast and is guard-centric, while Crooks has played in a system where offense is run from inside the paint. Moreover, at Iowa State, she was getting all the spotlight, but with LSU, that spotlight will widen.

LSU also won’t get an easy chance to snag Crooks. The likes of UConn, Texas, South Carolina and other SEC rivals will also be in play if she plans to enter the transfer portal.
