The biggest name on the women’s basketball transfer portal might have just dropped, as superstar center Audi Crooks has announced that she will be leaving the Iowa State Cyclones after her freshman year and entering the transfer portal.
This will be a massive loss for Iowa State, as she led the school to March Madness but suffered heartbreak after a first-round exit.
Crooks is regarded as one of the most dominant centers today, and is a double-double machine, averaging 25.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists as a junior at Iowa State. With such a dominant presence now on the market, which school should she go to next?
5 Potential Landing Spots For Audi Crooks After Leaving Iowa State
UCLA Bruins
Lauren Betts is heading to the WNBA as a potential No. 1 pick, which means that the Bruins could get one of the best centers to replace their best center.
Her going to UCLA should also mean that the Bruins could have another scary frontline as she would join Lauren’s sister, Sienna Betts and dominate the paint as they have been doing. UCLA is also known for its development of bigs, so this one should be a good choice.
LSU Tigers
Another powerhouse team known for its development of bigs, LSU was where Angel Reese shined, and Kim Mulkey would certainly be more than happy to welcome Crooks and improve her chances to win a national championship. The Tigers are also known for their great guards, and her connecting with one of them could be lethal.
Duke Blue Devils
The program has been a basketball powerhouse for the men’s and women’s divisions for a long time, and they made it all the way to the Elite Eight this year. A dominant center to go with their elite guards could pose a huge problem for other teams, especially in the competitive ACC.
North Carolina Tar Heels
Another Blue Blood program, the Tar Heels made it all the way to the Sweet 16 before falling to UConn. She could be a good fit and could probably get more attention in such a big program.
Iowa Hawkeyes
Audi Crooks is from Iowa, so moving to the rival program in her home state could also be an option. The team is also known for producing guards, especially one named Caitlin Clark, but getting them a dominant center like Crooks could change things a lot and probably hand them that natty they failed to win with Clark around.
