Who Are Cotie McMahon’s Parents? A Look at Projected No. 9 Overall Pick’s Background

Ole Miss’s Cotie McMahon is expected to be one of the top draft picks in this year’s WNBA Draft. She’s expected to be the ninth overall pick of the draft, which is held by the Washington Mystics after they traded with the Seattle Storm.

Not much is known of her parents. Her mom, Stacey McMahon, is a well-known presence during her games at Oxford, Mississippi, and before in Columbus, Ohio, when she played for the Ohio State Buckeyes. She’s known to be very vocal in her daughter’s support. McMahon’s father, Antoine McMahon, played basketball as a teenager at Wayne High School in Ohio. He’s a native of Dayton, Ohio, and he has always supported his daughter’s athletic career.

According to her:

“He has always been there for me. He has always encouraged me to be better. He’s always encouraged me that I can do anything I put my mind to,” said McMahon of her father

She has also praised her mother as one of the people to push her forward, and to initially pressure her to start playing the sport:

“She always made me work hard. She was continually making me play against males or older girls. She was constantly making me perform additional exercises or shots,”

What were Cotie McMahon’s numbers in the 2025-26 season with Ole Miss?

McMahon’s senior season with Ole Miss was the best of her collegiate career. She managed to get an average of 19.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. These are career best numbers across the board, except for her 6.3 rebounds per game in her sophomore season.

For her efforts, Cotie McMahon got First Team All-SEC honors in 2026. That pairs with a plethora of honors she earned in the Big Ten with the Buckeyes in previous seasons. She was twice a First Team All-Big Ten selection (2024, 2025), once a Second Team All-Big Ten selection (2023), the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2023, and a Big Ten All-Freshman once (2023).

This past season, she helped Ole Miss to finish as the No. 19 team in the nation, and they reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
