Fever New Guard Tyasha Harris Shoots Down Atlanta Dream Fans’ “Injury Prone” Dig In First Message After Indiana Homecoming

Amid speculations about the Indiana Fever’s draft decision, the management has decided to address their backup guard situation by signing Tyasha Harris. The Indianapolis native will finally return to her home team after spending five seasons in the league. She will take the backup guard position behind Caitlin Clark, but her injury concerns have still made fans skeptical about her impact on the team.

Harris underwent knee surgery in 2025 and could not play the entire season. A fan on X highlighted that concern and wrote:

“ty injury prone anyway we move.”

Harris replied to the fan’s comment and quickly shot down the rumors of her injury woes by commenting with a cap sign, pointing out that she was all healthy and ready to join the Fever roster.

The Fever was speculated to acquire a backup guard in the upcoming WNBA draft to pair alongside their superstar. However, Harris might now be expected to fulfil that responsibility. The franchise has already re-signed the majority of its roster back this offseason, but there is no information on Sophie Cunningham.

The team might look to bring her back if the salary cap allows, but signing Harris might make it difficult. Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull have already announced their homecoming, and now, Harris’ addition might spell doom for Tres Leches.

How will Tyasha Harris’ signing impact the Fever squad?

Though Tyasha Harris was drafted by the Atlanta Dream seventh overall in 2020, she has had ties to Indiana. Besides hailing from the Indianapolis metro region, she played with Fever head coach Stephanie White for two years when she was part of the Connecticut Sun and developed into a fine scorer. The management hopes to build on that chemistry.

Harris is an elite playmaker who would be a perfect and primary backup to Clark. Odyssey Sims handled the offense in the absence of Clark, while Cunningham added to the perimeter shooting. However, Tyasha Harris will add a completely different offensive arsenal to the squad.
