The U.S. Open Championships just came to an end. The Nittany Lions yet again secured major victories, while Titan Mercury’s Bo Bassett edged NJ’s Joseph McKenna for the US title.
Bassett floored the arena with a masterclass in technical dominance by dismantling McKenna in the 65 kg final. The NJ native found it difficult to keep up with Bassett’s technical superiority. Bassett stacked up points through relentless slams and earned a 10-0 technical fall win in just 3:55.
Ridge Lovett (NTMW) outlasted Caleb Henson 14-12 in the 70kg final, while veteran James Green secured a 5-3 decision over Kannon Webster in the 74kg championship.
Representing the U.S. Air Force, heavyweight Wyatt Henderickson pinned Demetrius Thomas in just 27 seconds, earning a spot in the Final X as America’s top-ranked heavyweight.
