Quincy Wilson stunned the audience with his performance in the 4x400m relay at the 2026 Penn Relays, creating a historic victory. The tournament commenced on April 23 and finished on April 25 at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia.
The 130th edition of the Penn Relays witnessed an array of dominant performances, including the stellar performance of Wilson in the HS Boys’ 4x400m relay race. The latter led Bullis School to a historic victory, ending a 19-year drought for African teams. In the cold and rainy conditions on April 25, he anchored his team to first place with a final time of 3:10.15.
The American closed the race in 45.58s, making his school the first American school to win the event since Long Beach Poly in 2007. FloTrack posted a clip of his performance on X, where he was seen cruising toward the finish line with a significant gap between him and his contenders.

The second and third places in the event were claimed by Archbishop John Carroll and Jamaica College, who registered 3:13.15 and 3:13.57, respectively.
In the 2025 Penn Relays, Quincy Wilson recorded a legendary 43.99-second split, which was the fastest in high school history at the meet. However, still, Jamaica’s Kingston College nabbed the victory by just 0.4 seconds.

Shortly before producing a staunch performance at the 2026 Penn Relays, Quincy Wilson competed at the New Balance Nationals Indoor, where he ran in the 400m race and broke the high school national record. On March 14, he won his fourth consecutive title in the event by running 45.37s, narrowly besting Jayden Deleon, who trailed by just 0.009s.
Following this win, he spoke to the media, making his feelings known about his dominance in the event. Opening up about how the win gave him confidence, he said:
“As a freshman, that gave me confidence. Thank God. This the fourth year I’ve won this title. Super thankful. No one’s ever done it before. I’m happy to be here. Great competitors. I’m just so thankful.”
He went on to weigh in on the support he received from his parents, fans, and sprinter Vernon Norwood during the race.
“It means a lot. I know I couldn’t have done it without him. I’m just super happy today. All the haters, all the people that support. I mean, I did this for y’all. I’m thankful. I mean, this is, look at the crowd. It’s amazing. And I’m just so happy, and I’m just super happy,” he added.
Quincy Wilson broke the national high school record in the 400m for the first time at the 2024 New Balance Nationals Indoor on March 10, by clocking 45.76 seconds.
