The 130th Boston Marathon has finally come to an end, and it witnessed a number of notable performances in various events throughout the day. It took place on April 20, during Patriot’s Day, which is a holiday in Massachusetts. The race followed its traditional 26.2-mile course, starting in Hopkinton, MA, and passed through eight towns, finishing on Boylston Street in Boston.

The weather was appropriate for the runners but a little chilly for the spectators. The day started with the wheelchair division, which commenced at 9:06 am. In the men’s wheelchair event, Switzerland’s Marcel Hug produced a staunch performance, clocking 1:16:06. The women’s wheelchair race witnessed the UK’s Eden Rainbow-Cooper win the event with a time of 1:30:51.

The most interesting events to witness at the marathon were the professional men’s and women’s, where the defending champions John Korir and Sharon Lokedi gracefully defended their titles. Korir delivered an exceptional performance, clocking a course record of 2:01:52. Lokedi, on the other hand, recorded 2:18.51 to stand atop the podium, besting Loice Chemnung.

Several notable personalities also participated in the marathon, including the former NHL player, Zdeno Chara, astronaut Suni Williams, and Chelsea Clinton. The TV coverage of the event was done by WCVB Channel 5 and ESPN2. Other apps that offered live streaming were Fubo TV and the ESPN app.
