Fellow athletes Eileen Gu and Femke Bol reacted to the American’s prowess displayed in the classics with great enthusiasm.

    The 2026 Kip Keino Classic saw electrifying track action as athletes gathered at Nairobi’s high-altitude Nyayo National Stadium. The event is a key stop for global track athletes, part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold circuit. The event also witnessed several home favorites holding up their honors, alongside emerging talents making their mark.

    America’s Gabby Thomas has been hailed as the standout performer for her record-breaking feat that turned the island of speed into her backyard, where she clocked a world lead of 21.89 seconds in the 200m race, after securing a dominant 100m win in 11.01 seconds.

    Fellow track runner Femke Bol and freestyle skier Eileen Gu took to their social media to comment on Gabby Thomas’ post. Both Bol and Gu reacted with an awestruck reaction, which perfectly captured the sport media’s jaw-drop.
