Nebraska volleyball player Lexi Rodriguez showered her team with emotional support after the Cornhuskers’ loss to Austin during the LOVB indoor games. This comes as Nebraska failed to reach the LOVB playoffs due to a very close match that went five sets.
LOVB Nebraska took on LOVB Austin, and Nebraska bagged 25-22 during set one; however, Austin took control of set two and three. Following set four, things went back and forth; however, halfway through set five, Austin managed to get an upper hand and took home the victory with 15-10.
Lexi Rodriguez took to her social media to highlight how Nebraska is beyond the sport and mentioned the work ethic delivered by every player of the squad, despite occasional setbacks throughout the season.
“The team was so special, and the work that was put in every day was showing every time we stepped into the court. It sucks that it had to end like this after the strides we made, but we fought until the very end,” she said.

She highlighted the statement with a pictorial view of the Nebraska team celebrating. Fans also wrote back encouraging words and wished the team all the best for the upcoming season.
Lexi Rodriguez Pays Tribute to Jordan Larson
During the post-game presser, Lexi Rodriguez paid homage to Jordan Larson, who was sitting beside her, with words and nostalgic moments that sparked a charming reaction from the two.
She was seen holding back her tears as she recounted how much Larson has given to the team, alongside highlighting the time spent with her learning the ropes, and praised her leadership qualities.
“Yeah, she’s been the leader of it but having her as a coach and getting to learn from her that way was once in a lifetime, I was like “Nothing can get better than this” and after getting her as a teammate, and I learnt a lot of the volleyball stuff, but my favorite part was to getting you to know as a person,” she said (8:11).
She said how she never imagined being friends with a four-time Olympian and vowed to carry forth the mentorship skills that she had acquired from her.
The LOVB championship is set in Long Beach, California, from April 16-18.
