Nebraska volleyball standout, Harper Murray, spoke to 15-year-old rising player, Kari Knott, easing her worries about college recruiting. The outside hitter is currently gearing up for the 2026 indoor season of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Murray’s last outing was during the regional final of the 2025 NCAA volleyball championships. After producing a perfect season, the Cornhuskers lost their first match of the championships in the regional final against Texas A&M.
Following this heartbreaking upset, they are now gearing up for the 2026 season, and the beach volleyball tournament is all set to commence Monday.
The team’s opening match is against Ottawa at the Alloy Strength Complex. Amid this, Murray was recently spotted with Knott, who led the Team USA U-19 team to gold at just 14 years old. Both the personalities were seen together at Kansas City in the stands, where Knott asked the outside hitter about the recruitment process of college.
When she questioned Murray if the recruitment process was scary, the latter gently assured her that it wasn’t scary at her time and it won’t be for the 15-year-old either:
“No. It won’t be scary for you either. If anything, it will be more stressful than scary. You will be fine.”
When Harper Murray Opened up About Her Mental Health Struggles
Last year in February, Harper Murray spoke to TC Sports Network, where she laid bare her mental health struggles and how she dealt with them. Revealing that she had a mental breakdown while she was on a trip to Hawaii with her Nebraska volleyball teammates, she made her feelings known about how they made her feel better.
Weighing in on how they constantly checked up on her situation, she said:
“We go to a trip Huwai in spring break for playing a tournament. So, when I was there, obviously this kind of goes in the social media part of it. “Hawaii, spring break, I go for free because its paid through Nebraska and I am posting things on TikTok, Instagram and all these things.”
She added:
“I look great on social media but like in reality, I was crying myself to sleep every night on that trip. I wasn’t eating, I was starting new medication and I would cry the whole way and every single my teammates took rounds like coming to talk to me and making sure that I am okay.”
