Nebraska’s Harper Murray Clarifies Fletcher Loyer Dating Rumours and Reconfirms her Relationship Status

Nebraska volleyball star Harper Murray set the record straight after fans speculated whether she was dating college basketball player Fletcher Loyer. The rumors began circulating after Loyer posted a photo of the two from a Purdue game on his Instagram story, prompting some followers to assume the pair were dating.

Murray, however, dismissed the rumors and confirmed her relationship with her boyfriend, Heinrich Haarberg.

When a fan questioned Murray about her relationship with Haarberg, writing:

“So she ain’t with Heinrich no more?

Murray responded:

“I am! Fletcher and I have known each other since middle school.”

In another comment thread under the same photo, a fan questioned the nature of their connection. Murray again responded with a straightforward explanation, writing:

“Been friends since we were 12 and grew up together lol.”

Murray is currently gearing up for the Nebraska beach volleyball season. The indoor season is scheduled to begin on February 23, and her team’s first match is against Ottawa at the Alloy Strength Complex in Lincoln.

When Harper Murray Opened Up About Her Being a Part of the Nebraska Volleyball Team

In a conversation with Hail Varsity in August 2025, Harper Murray discussed being a part of the Nebraska volleyball team. For her, becoming a member of the team was more than simply choosing a college program. It was joining a tradition she had admired long before her recruiting journey began.

Revealing that Jordan Larson was her inspiration growing up, she said:

“Again, like I think over time, I didn’t realize how big volleyball was and how big it um specifically how big it was in Nebraska. And of course, as I’ve gotten older and volleyball’s grown, I’ve seen it more and more. But I think I always knew I wanted to be here. And of course there were other schools that caught my eye at the time, but I really think that it was Jordan Larson. Like she obviously wasn’t a coach here at the time, but she was always the volleyball player that I idolized growing up.”
