Arvell Reese is projected to be a top-five pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Reese believes that he should be considered for a top-three draft pick, and the Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker has his reasons for the same.
Reese joined Ohio State in 2023. He won the CFP national title in 2024 and had his breakout season in 2025. He registered 69 total tackles, 34 solo and 35 assist, and 6.5 sacks throughout the 2025 season for the Buckeyes.
He’s on the verge of realizing his NFL dreams, and he’s entering draft season with a lot of hype around him. Reese believes that he has the talent and skill to back all the hype and that he should be among the top three draft picks.
During a recent conversation with Adam King, Reese was asked why an NFL franchise should use a top-three pick on him. The linebacker said that his mindset and approach toward the game are unparalleled.
“I think I’m different from a lot of guys,” Reese said. “I think my mindset and the violence I play with. I think I’m comfortable with myself and I know myself, and I know who I am and I know I’m a violent player and I’m a dog.”
Reese sounds confident, and he believes the team that picks him inside the top three wouldn’t regret that decision. He switched between linebacker and edge rusher positions during his time at OSU, so he’ll bring versatility to the table as well.
In addition to that, Reese thinks that he will be able to play both sides in the league if he’s given those opportunities.
Arvell Reese Boasted About His Abilities
Reese is making waves at the NFL Combine. During the media availability at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, Reese talked about the position he’d prefer to play and the versatility he possesses.
“Teams have pretty much been asking me what I want to do and see where my mind was at,” Reese said. “I’ve been telling them I think I’m an outside linebacker/edge. I haven’t even scratched the surface with really what I can do pass rushing.”
Reese’s claims have been backed by analysts and experts. Although he’s not among the favorites to be a top-three pick, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has him going number four in the draft, picked by the Tennessee Titans.
