The Miami Hurricanes of Mario Cristobal have pulled a great recruiting coup this Wednesday, flipping five-star edge Jaiden Bryant. He had initially committed to the LSU Tigers in January. He’s the 29th-best prospect in the class of 2027, according to Rivals.com, although the 247Sports Composite has him as the 20th-best.

It didn’t take long for fans to react to the news, with some thinking that he just didn’t want to play in a conference as competitive as the SEC.

“He want to play in an easier conference. No everyone is cut for a big league of the SEC,” ventured one fan

Fans thought it was a money matter.

“Lol they didn’t flip him they just paid him a ton more,” claimed another person

“nothing but money….all that matters anymore. can’t stand it,” said someone else

LSU Tigers fans didn’t seem that concerned.

“Didn’t need him, wouldn’t have played till his junior year,” wrote a Tigers fan

Neutral fans expressed their fear of the money-driven Miami Hurricanes.

“Miami scares me. No recruit is ever safe,” said one Ohio State fan

“They flipped him from LSU man. That’s crazy. No way they land DJ Jacobs at this point if they flipped Jaiden Bryant already..,” said another individual

‘Canes fans were just happy about it.

“Mario going on that Nick Saban Run… just add the nattys to the list and this is keeping up for the next decade,” claimed another person

Jaiden Bryant on why he ended up flipping to the Miami Hurricanes

Over the weekend, Jaiden Bryant visited the University of Miami, and it seems that was when the Hurricanes worked their magic. He just felt wanted, Bryant told On3:

“It went great,” Bryant said. “Some highlights from this weekend were spending time with some of the guys and some of the players already on the team. I just had an all-around great time. I appreciated the way the coaches treated me and my family. I felt love here. I felt wanted.”

It was also down to the coaching pedigree Miami has on the defensive side of things:

“Development, we’ll get you there and be great,” Bryant said. “It definitely weighs heavy just knowing they had two first rounders with the same coach, JT (Jason Taylor). I can have the same coach they had. It’s a key piece to my recruitment.”

He also said that he felt a good rapport with Mario Cristobal, and that he was a coach he felt like he would like to play under.
