In under an hour, the AFC Championship Game will kick off as the Denver Broncos host the visiting New England Patriots for a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
All season both the Broncos and Patriots have run through their competition and have earned the top two seeds in the AFC respectively.
The first of the two conference championship games kicks off at 3:00 p.m. ET at Empower Field at Mile High. The road team Pats enter the game as 3.5-point favorites with over/under line set at 43.5 points. The winner will face the winner of the Seattle Seahawks-Los Angeles Rams game.
But before the game kicks off, the traditional national anthem will take place moments before the kickoff Denver-based singer/songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff will sing the national anthem.
Rateliff sings for the band The Night Sweats. His genre of music includes soul, gospel, folk rock, blues, rock, and cowpunk. He’s been an active musician since 2002.
Patriots-Broncos Injury Report For AFC Championship Game
Ahead of today’s AFC Championship game, both sides will have some players sidelined due to injuries.
On the New England Patriots‘ side, OLB Harold Landry (knee), DT Joshua Farmer (hamstring), and RB Terrell Jennings (concussion), are all out.
For the Denver Broncos, Bo Nix is out after injuring his ankle toward the end of the team’s AFC Divisional win over the Buffalo Bills. Running back JK Dobbins (foot), who was activated off of IR, was ruled out for today’s game. The Broncos will also be without tight end Luca Krull (foot) and LB Drew Sanders (ankle.)
The Broncos will be at a little bit of a disadvantage being without Nix and Dobbins, and the Patriots could benefit from that.
