Former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was fired last Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026 form being the Ravens’ head coach. It was a move that surprised many, as Harbaugh had coached the Ravens for the last 18 seasons.
Harbaugh was a well-respected coach that led his Ravens teams to a combined 180-113 record with a Super Bowl win. His teams made the postseason 12 out of 18 times with him as their coach.
With Harbaugh a ‘free agent’ coach, he’s at the top of every team’s list that needs a new head coach. Being one of the top coaches available, Harbaugh reportedly has some demands he’s requesting for the team that he takes over.
Per Tony Grossi, an ESPN insider for the Cleveland area, Harbaugh wants to be paid $20 million per year, have a $10 million staff budget, wants total authority over the roster, and would like to select his own general manager.
Per CBS Sports Reporter Jonathan Jones, Harbaugh’s Demands Are ‘Inaccurate’
Shortly after John Harbaugh’s demands were released, CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Jones wrote a column debunking those needs. In his article, he wrote that Harbaugh will request some say in the roster, but won’t request full control, nor will ask for $20 million per season.
