With the NFL season around the corner, teams have revealed their uniforms for the new year, featuring the best players on the roster. However, C. J. Stroud’s appearance in the Houston Texans’ threads has drawn a lot of heat from fans.
The Texans gave fans a peek at the new uniform in a post on X (formerly Twitter), showing off their iconic Deep Steel Blue jersey with white lettering and a patch on the shoulder celebrating the franchise’s 25th birthday.
One fan commented:
“Bro genuinely looks washed”
While another fan pointed out Stroud changing his look, saying:
“Should’ve kept the locs, bro.”

C. J. Stroud Downplays Contract Extension Talks
Stroud will enter the third year of his four-year, $36,279,243 contract in 2026. However, the Houston star is not worried about a contract extension just yet. Speaking on his potential future with the team during the offseason, Stroud said:
“I let my agent handle that… My job is football. I think I’ve held my bargain up.”
While Stroud has been responsible for the regular season success the team has had in the past three years, the former Ohio State star has been inconsistent in his production during the NFL Playoffs.
The 24-year-old has led his team to three Wildcard Round wins but has combined for 58/108, 632 yards, 1 TD, 4 INTs in the Divisional Playoffs, including no touchdowns against the Ravens and the Chiefs in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
On the team end, according to insider Jeremy Fowler, the contract extension talks are ‘on hold.’ Fowler revealed the latest on Stroud’s contract extension, saying:
“Talks are essentially on pause as of now. Now, Houston has been aggressive paying players. They’ve been paying defensive players, like Danielle Hunter, Will Anderson, Azeez Al-Shaair. If they want to take care of Stroud, they’re going to have to make some progress this Summer. Otherwise, there are some people around the league who very much believe he’ll play out the fourth year of his deal to try and get his value up.”
