Hallie Aiono, the former girlfriend of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, publicly addressed the controversy surrounding her pregnancy last year. She revealed the emotional toll it took on her body after comments made by former NFL players Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor on The Pivot Podcast.
On a TikTok video posted on Jul 13, Aiono explained that she sought a legal paternity test not because of infidelity, but because she wanted to protect herself and her unborn son during a difficult period in her relationship with Nacua.
“To be so honest, I am surprised that I am even here. I did not want to live anymore.” she said.
“A year ago, three former NFL guys decided to talk about me on their podcast,” Aiono said. “They talked about me in a very disgusting and vile way. They talked so confidently about me, as if they knew me.”
During an episode of The Pivot Podcast, Clark questioned why a paternity test was necessary if Nacua believed he was the father. Crowder added that the Rams receiver had “got out of the spider’s web,” while Clark went even further by suggesting Aiono had “one job” if she was after money and saying he hoped the baby was not Nacua’s.
“Congratulations brother,” Crowder said. “You got out of the spider’s web before it stung…. She helped him out with this. You don’t even know (who the father is)?”
Clark added on “You don’t have to prove (paternity) if (Nacua) believes it. What are you doing? You know why she’s even dumber?… (She) had one job. If you were in if for the money, you had one job”
“You couldn’t wait… I pray that it’s not (Puka’s) baby.”
Aiono said those public remarks made her life more painful.
She revealed that she had not been receiving the financial and emotional support she needed during her pregnancy.
“I was focused on protecting myself and my son,” she explained.

Aiono also opened up about the mental health struggles she experienced during the incident.
She said the relentless criticism left her questioning whether she wanted to continue living.
“I opened my phone at 3 a.m. to see this podcast, and I will never forget that moment,” she said.
She also denied the cheating accusations straight away and alleged that Nacua had been the one who was unfaithful during their relationship.
“I am here, and my son is here and that’s probably how I am going to always conclude my videos, how lucky i am to say that we both are healthy and happy” – she said.
As of now, neither Puka Nacua nor Ryan Clark has publicly responded to Aiono’s latest remarks. Clark, who recently attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding alongside his wife, has not addressed the renewed criticism stemming from his comments on The Pivot Podcast.
