Skip Bayless is moving in early with the prediction for the Super Bowl 2027. Yesterday, Bayless had regrets putting his bet on the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks for Super Bowl LX.
Bayless was very confident that the Patriots would win. He was seeing a lot of potential in Drake Maye, his leadership, and his development as a quarterback throughout the year. Bayless wasn’t the only one who thought so.
However, the game went in a completely different direction from the start. Maye looked underconfident, made several wrong decisions, and was repeatedly sacked by the Seahawks throughout the game.
It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Patriots got to open their scoring. Despite a disastrous result from the team he had picked, Bayless is prepared to put another prediction out in the world. This time, a year in advance.
The media veteran recently took to X to share his thoughts on Super Bowl 2027. Although he specified that his pick is subject to change, it’ll still be considered an early pick.
“My extremely early Super Bowl pick for next year, subject to change: Bills over Bears. Dark horses: Chargers w/ 4th most cap plus Mike McDaniel to turn around Herbert … and Raiders w/ 2nd most cap, Mendoza, Jeanty, Bowers, Kubiak,” he wrote.
There’s a lot of potential in the teams Bayless has picked for the next Super Bowl. Most of these teams were considered frontrunners for the last as well. However, there’s still a lot that can change from now till the next season starts.
Interestingly, he didn’t mention the current Super Bowl champions. Bayless has already put “subject to change” in his prediction, which shows he’s playing it safe this time. He doesn’t want to make more changes to his routine like he did this year.
Skip Bayless Regretted Betting Against the Seahawks
The result of Super Bowl LX wasn’t entirely shocking. The Seahawks were the favorites to win and had good odds in their favor. The inexperienced Patriots side had its fair share of believers, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
Immediately after the game, Bayless posted a long video on his social media, expressing shock over the result. He also revealed the reason why he regretted betting against Seattle.
“NOW I HAVE TO WEAR A DARNOLD JERSEY TOMORROW ON ARENA GRIDIRON AND NEVER AGAIN CALL HIM ‘SAME’,” he wrote.
While Sam Darnold got his name back, Bayless stated that he will go back to calling Drake Maye, Drake Maybe.
