Rashod Bateman has sent the internet into a frenzy with a recent post that appeared on his Instagram. In fairness, the controversial post appeared on his secondary account, but it’s still his.
Bateman has been very vocal about the problems he has with the Baltimore Ravens organization, especially their front office. He also has an ongoing issue with general manager Eric DeCosta and his stance on drafting players, among other things.
The post that appeared on his profile stated that DeCosta should focus on letting his players play to their strengths and allow them to flourish. The post also stated that it’s the players who take all the blame.
The post advised DeCosta and the Ravens organization to care about the players and give them what they need to be successful. When this post surfaced on his profile, fans believed that it must be him because he shares similar sentiments.
However, Bateman took to his other Instagram account to tell the fans that his account was hacked and that the post wasn’t made by him. But the fans aren’t buying his excuse.
“Rashod Bateman is a f**king terrible liar lmaoooooo,” a fan wrote.
“is they scapegoating rashod or he’s just being brave ?” a fan asked
“aint nobody hacking rashod bateman lmfaooo,” a fan wrote.
“Some of you really are still out here defending Rashod Bateman with your whole chest,” a fan wrote.
“CTE creeping in,” a fan wrote.
“Bro was def hammered,” a fan wrote.
While most fans are making fun of Bateman for his alleged outburst and the follow-up clarification, others are seeing a deeper issue. Some fans believe that Bateman did the right thing by calling out the organization, but he has to backtrack now because it can affect his career in Baltimore.
Rashod Bateman Issued A Statement
The post that appeared on Bateman’s page spread like wildfire on social media. Screenshots of the same were widely shared across social media platforms, and it garnered a lot of different reactions from fans.
Seeing things getting out of hand, Bateman issued a statement. He clarified that he doesn’t align with the thoughts shared publicly and that his account was hacked.
“My apologies for the confusion. My account was hacked by someone I know, lame shit. This one and others. Although I agree with some shi, since y’all know me, Ian got the time for some shi either. I was putting up fckn baby strollers all day when I got this news,” he said in his STATEMENT.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Ravens have to say about this situation. They’ll know better if Bateman was actually hacked or if he’s simply protecting himself from backlash.
