One of Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur‘s key personnel has resigned after a disappointing 2025 NFL campaign. On Tuesday, Feb. 17, the Packers announced that assistant head coach/special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia has stepped down from his role for greener pastures.
This comes after Green Bay finished the recently concluded season with a subpar 9-7-1 overall record and missed the postseason despite being the second seed in the NFC North. Bisaccia has received a great deal of criticism from fans and spectators throughout his Packers tenure. The Packers will now hunt for their next special teams coordinator.
NFL fans online, especially the Packers faithful, rejoiced over the news of Bisaccia’s resignation.
“Wait, is this true? This is the best news all day if so,” one fan said.
“Finally we can get serious next season. Take Nixon McManus and Hobbs with you,” another fan shared.
“Best news all day! 💚💛😌🙂↕️,” another user captioned with a GIF and several emojis.
“YES YES YES YES YES GOD IS GOOD!!! GREATEST DAY EVER,” a fan exclaimed.
“Fantastic would have been him being fired weeks ago while GB had more options to choose from for a replacement,” one fan claimed.
“Should have happened within a week of the season finishing. Now we are severely handicapped at finding a replacement. Nice guy Lafleur loses again,” another fan explained.
“Glad there’s one coach that’s willing to do what’s needed for the team…too bad it wasn’t the guy in charge,” a fan wrote.
Bisaccia spent around four years in his role with the Green Bay, Wisconsin-based franchise, having been appointed in February of 2022 and then integrated as an assistant head coach in March of the following year. Throughout his time with the Packers, he was under the supervision of coach LaFleur.
Matt LaFleur Is Disappointed With The News Of Rich Bisaccia Resigning From His Role
Coach Matt LaFleur reacted to Rich Bisaccia’s resignation. In LaFleur’s statement, he said he is disappointed, as Bisaccia was a valuable piece in the team, despite what their fans and supporters say.
Nonetheless, LaFleur wishes the veteran all the luck in the world moving forward.
“While we are disappointed to lose a person and coach as valuable as Rich, we respect his decision to step down from the Packers. Rich was a tremendous resource to me and our entire coaching staff, who had a profound impact on our players and our culture throughout the building. We can’t thank him enough for his contributions to our team over the last four years. We wish Rich, his wife, Jeanne, and the rest of their family all the best moving forward,” LaFleur was quoted as saying.
