Taylor Swift’s and Travis Kelce’s wedding was one of the most exciting events of this year, with over 1,000 guests attending the massive event at Madison Square Garden in New York.
According to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Swift paid about $160,000 for the permit ahead of the wedding.
Overall, Swift and Kelce have reportedly spent around $20 to $30 million on the wedding; however, a Daily Mail report published on Saturday suggested that a few guests were left unimpressed by some of the arrangements. Some guests reportedly complained about the long lines at the buffet, while others expressed frustration over the alleged champagne shortage.
Addressing the rumors, Pat McAfee spoke about his experience at the wedding on Monday:
“The only reason why any of this is gonna happen is the memory. And how could you forget anything that happened that night? So anybody who’s saying anything negative about that place. Now granted, shutting down parts of the city and that whole thing. You guys can have your thoughts on that. The event itself was like the most spectacular, grand thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Taylor Swift is one of the greatest creators that the world has ever seen. I mean, she puts on stadium shows all around the globe. She has to entertain people who are 90 and those who are 15. Think about her brain going to her dream wedding. And then Travis Kelce’s energy in the middle of it. And the football world is coming together with Hollywood.”
Guests Reportedly Label Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce’s Wedding “Chaotic”
Managing 1,000 guests could be a bit of a task; however, when it’s Taylor Swift you’re talking about, someone who has managed one of the biggest tours in history, it’s a bit difficult to imagine she would slack off.
In the same Daily Mail report, some guests allegedly said that different people had been given different time slots to arrive at the event, with those closest to the bride arriving closer to 5:30 p.m.
“It was surprisingly chaotic inside. Arrivals were staggered, with people having to wait for hours with nothing to do. The cocktails didn’t start until 4 p.m. People literally were twiddling their thumbs for hours,” Daily Mail’s source said. “If you were in the 2.30 p.m. time slot, you couldn’t even amuse yourself by checking your phone. You were just standing around like a lemon.”
