The New York Giants had a bit of an off-field situation going on for a brief period of time a few months ago when LB Abdul Carter expressed his frustration with Jaxson Dart’s actions.
Dart introduced Donald Trump at a political rally in New York on May 22, after which Carter took to X to publicly express his dislike toward the Giants QB’s decision to do so.
Later, during a press conference, Carter said that while he still stands by what he said, he would expect Dart to stand on what he believes in, too.
During an interview with “The Dominique Foxworth Show” on Monday, Giants coach John Harbaugh spoke about the Carter-Dart situation.
“It may be like the thing we went through with Jaxson and Abdul, the conversations we had around that — that’s one little piece of that journey in deciding how we’re going to operate together. And I think a coach is responsible for being aware of all of those things every single day that are happening in real time that are going to bring us together so that we can operate together when the battle hits the fan.
“Those types of things — I told the guys, this is not a one-off. This is not the first time we’re going to be thrown into this very thing, the political, social discourse. So we have to have conversations in a reasonable — in a way that respects one another. So, how are we going to go about this? What do you guys think?
“And, really, honestly, Dominique, I didn’t have to do anything. I didn’t have to say anything, really. The players said it. They laid the ground rules down for the guys and decided how it would be approached going forward.”
Eli Manning Trolls Jaxson Dart With Sound Advice
Eli Manning is a household name for every Giants fan, as the former quarterback helped the team secure two Super Bowl championships during his time as a player.
In a recent playful back-and-forth, Manning and Dart trolled each other. However, many fans concluded that the former Super Bowl champ had the last laugh.
In a dual autograph trading card, Dart asked Manning about why there are no chains in his picture, to which the latter replied:
“Jax, replace the chain with some rings.”
Dart and Manning are both Ole Miss alums and have developed a seemingly wholesome bond over the years, with the Giants QB also attending the Manning Passing Academy for two years straight.
