Drake Maye and the New England Patriots will be taking on the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl on February 8. The biggest sporting event of the year is nearly a week away, and the anticipation around it is increasing every day.
Every detail related to the game is being dissected, analyzed, discussed, and explained among the media and the fans. As far as aesthetics are concerned, the Patriots have finalized what their uniform for the Super Bowl is going to look like.
The Patriots will wear their white jersey-white pants combo in the big event. New England had options on the table, but since they’re technically the home team in the final showdown, they’ve decided to go with an all-white combo.
“A look at the patches and all white uniforms the Patriots will wear at the Super Bowl, via Devin McCourty’s IG. The Patriots are technically the home team, but wanted to embrace their “road warriors” mentality with the white jerseys after going 9-0 on the road,” The Athletic’s Chad Graff REPORTED.
For those who believe in superstitions, the white jersey has been good for the Patriots all season. The Patriots have never lost a road game all season while wearing all whites, which includes their playoff matchups.
The Patriots wore the same jersey in the AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos and walked away with a hard-fought 10-7 victory. With the same jersey on February 8, the Patriots would like to secure another win, only this time, they’ll become Super Bowl Champions because of it.
Drake Maye Injury Report
No Patriots fan will like to see these four words put together for the next 10 days. ‘Drake Maye injury report’ is enough to send shockwaves across the fanbase, even as a simple headline. But this time, Maye was actually on the injury report.
Since there are no games this weekend and the only remaining game in the league this season is the Super Bowl, the injury report for the week doesn’t hold much value. The Patriots didn’t even hold a practice session, so the injury report is nearly a formality.
However, on Wednesday’s report, Maye was listed as a limited participant in practice. All it means is that if the Patriots had a practice session, Maye might not have been a full participant.
This could be a strategy, a precautionary measure, or a sign of an actual injury. The reality is that Maye has struggled with his right shoulder for a while. But unless something drastic happens, nothing is stopping the quarterback from stepping on the field on February 8.
