Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud received support from his receiver Tank Dell after a tough ending to the 2025 season. For the third straight time, the Texans were defeated in the divisional round. Stroud & Co. defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-6 before getting eliminated following the loss against the New England Patriots, 28-16.
Stroud received a lot of backlash from the media and fans after that game as he threw four interceptions in that game, which cost the Texans massively. After the game, Dell posted a supportive message on social media for the quarterback.
Recently, during an interview, Dell warned the rest of the NFL that the Texans will be unstoppable in 2026.
“In every way possible, he was there for me,” Dell said of Stroud. “People can say what they want about Stroud, they’re sitting on their couches, just typing on computers or typing on their phones. But everybody knows who Stroud is, especially in the facility. We know who he is, and when we get back out there with him, it’s gonna be special. So we can let them say what they want, it’s all right.”
CJ Stroud Took Responsibility For Playoffs Loss Against Patriots
The Patriots will be playing in the Super Bowl in a week while the Texans are licking their wounds following a shocking performance by CJ Stroud.
After the embarrassing performance in the 28-16 loss, Stroud took accountability, saying he let his teammates and the organization down.
“I look back, and I just feel like I let people down,” Stroud said. “I’m…not not happy with that, and you know, it hurts, and I’m not naive to it. I didn’t play my best this year, but I’m gonna respond. I’m gonna, you know, keep my chest up, my chin up high, and I’m gonna just keep battling for it.
“But yeah, I think, even today…just our team doing great, you know, our defense getting stops…and I just being careless with the football. I gotta, you know, get that fixed and something that I know I can, so I’m gonna get that done.”
Despite that, several Texans teammates showed their support to Stroud, who took the blame upon himself. Stroud is still young and he will have plenty more opportunities to avenge this playoff loss and take Houston to Sthe uper Bowl one day.
