“Do The Commanders Know”: NFL World Has Its Say as Brandon Aiyuk Threatens 49ers on Instagram

Brandon Aiyuk has suddenly been shone into the spotlight as he took to Instagram to make a bold statement presumably to the San Francisco 49ers, amid fears that he could be cut by the team. Aiyuk made it clear that he would move to rivals Washington Commanders if indeed there was a suggestion that he moves on from the 49ers.

After initially posting a story saying “Go Commanders”, Aiyuk followed it up today by posting some more suggestions that he’s interested in moving to them.”The best sport in the world. The best league in the world [and] the best team in the world,” was followed by a story saying “And I almost forgot.. The best WR in the world.” Following this, he makes it clear that he’ll sign with the Commanders, drawing some sharp reactions on X.

“And if I’m crazy or if I’m cappin’, tell them boys cut me today. And I’ll sign with the Commanders tomorrow.”

Are the Commanders Interested in Brandon Aiyuk?

Regardless of Brandon Aiyuk’s claims on Instagram, there is currently no proof that the Washington Commanders are even interested in signing him just yet.

While this could change and stranger things have happened in the NFL, the Commanders cannot actually make their interest in Aiyuk public yet even if they have some, considering his contract with the 49ers would deem it as tampering. But with the tension increasing between Aiyuk and the 49ers lately, there is a possibility he moves on from San Francisco pretty soon.
