Mack Hollins signed a two-year contract with the New England Patriots in March 2025. Before that, he had short stints with the Raiders, the Falcons, and the Bills. The veteran wide receiver is balancing the young Patriots squad with his Super Bowl-winning experience.
The 32-year-old has had a lot of injury troubles throughout his career. His list of injuries is very long, but there are a few recurring injuries that have been common throughout his career.
In December, Hollins suffered an abdominal injury and had to be placed on injured reserve. Fortunately, his injury wasn’t severe, or he could’ve missed playing in the Super Bowl this year.
“WR Mack Hollins is fully healthy now, but late in the season, sources say Hollins suffered a lacerated spleen that landed him on Injured Reserve. The painful and scary injury only cost Hollins four games. And he’ll play today,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
As per a Fox Sports report, Hollins has suffered several ankle injuries in 2023. The most severe one happened in Week 10, and he had to sit out five weeks because of it. Hollins’ heel has also been a major problem for him.
He suffered from heel injuries throughout the 2022 season. Hollins frequently appeared on the team’s injury report, listed as questionable or out, during the middle stretch of the season.
His presence tonight against the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl matchup is very important. The Patriots squad is relatively young and inexperienced when it comes to the Super Bowl. He was part of the Super Bowl-winning squad of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017.

Gameday outfits have become a big trend in recent years. Players are always snapped as they enter the arena before games, and they’ve started using that opportunity to showcase their fashion sense.
Some outfits are quirky, others are well thought out, but what Hollins decided to wear for the Super Bowl can’t be boxed into one category.
Hollins arrived for the Super Bowl wearing a prison uniform. He wore handcuffs in both his hands and legs and wore a Hannibal Lecter-style mask on his face. Needless to say, his look instantly went viral on the internet.
No one other than Hollins knows what the inspiration or the reason was behind that outfit. Hopefully, he’ll provide some much-needed context after the game.
