Los Angeles Rams safety Kam Curl had NFL fans talking after he spoke about the 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket prices.
During an appearance on the “Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams,” Curl was asked whether he planned to attend any World Cup games being played at SoFi Stadium, the home venue of the Rams. His response caught many fans off guard.
“Nah, they talking about we got to pay full price,” Curl said. “It’s crazy, y’all at our stadium. It is what it is. I’ll watch on TV.”
The Rams defensive back appeared frustrated that NFL players were not receiving discounted/complimentary tickets despite several World Cup matchups being hosted at the stadium where they play their home games.
While some fans understood Curl’s point about ticket prices, many didn’t agree with the Rams star.
One user wrote bluntly: “The Rams and Chargers don’t own SoFi Stadium. They lease it from Kroenke’s real estate companies. If it’s not on your books, it’s not your stadium.”
Other fans pointed out the difference between playing at a venue and owning it.
“Stadium is owned by E. Stanley Kroenke… Kam Curl just happens to play there for now,” one wrote.
“Imagine McDonald’s employees demanding free Big Macs because they mop the floor,” another wrote.
A user wrote: “This just proves how completely broken modern ticket distribution is; when the prices are so inflated that even the athletes playing in the building say forget it the system is fundamentally flawed.”
Another added: “Makes millions playing a game and is crying about buying tickets.”
FIFA World Cup Ticket Prices Remain a Hot Topic
The 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket prices have become a major talking point throughout the tournament, with some high-profile games reaching four-figure prices on resale markets. Hospitality packages for later-stage matchups have reportedly climbed even higher.
While many fans pushed back on Rams safety Kam Curl for his take on the ticket prices, others also acknowledged that his frustration reflects a concern about the affordability of attending major sporting events.
Curl’s comments weren’t necessarily about whether he could afford tickets. Instead, they appeared to say that the prices are so high that even NFL athletes are finding it expensive.
Whether fans agreed with him or not, Curl’s World Cup ticket comment got more attention than he probably expected, and it gave NFL and soccer fans something to talk about while they root for their favorite team.
