Years after retiring from the NFL, Le’Veon Bell has become a prominent social media figure, often commenting on the sports world. In an appearance on Justin Laboy’s “Respectfully – The Justin Laboy Show,” the former Pittsburgh Steelers legend couldn’t hold back his laughter when speaking about ex-Jets HC Adam Gase.
Le’Veon Bell recalled when the veteran NFL coach allegedly used cocaine before a training session, and this happened ‘multiple times.’
“He might have been the dumbest coach ever.. I ain’t just walking in the office, see my coach—we about to go to practice, bro. We got practice in 28 minutes. We got a walkthrough, bro. This is what you doing in here? Yeah. You ain’t seen him sniff coke, bro? My own two [eyes]. My own two. On my own two. My own two. Not just once, though—it was just one time. That’s what he did, though. Everybody knows that. That’s what he did. But it was just crazy to me that I actually seen him doing it,” he said (58:42)
Adam Gase joined the New York Jets as the head coach in 2019 and was fired after the 2020 season, after a combined 23-9 record in two seasons. Gase joined the Los Angeles Chargers as a pass game specialist ahead of the 2026 season.
Exploring Le’Veon Bell’s NFL Career
Bell joined the Steelers as a second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. The former Michigan State RB’s explosiveness took over Mike Tomlin’s offense as he exploded for 800+ yards as a rookie.
Eventually, he went on to grab three Pro-Bowl honors as well as two First Team All-Pro awards. After five successful seasons in Pittsburgh, Bell signed a $52.5m contract with the New York Jets, becoming the second-highest paid running back in the NFL at the time.
Bell was released by the Jets after failing to find a trade partner at the end of the 2020 season. The 6-foot-2 running back signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before eventually retiring from the NFL after getting released.
