The biggest question on everyone’s mind after Taylor Swift’s and Travis Kelce’s wedding in New York City on July 3 is whether the singer will take the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s last name.
According to a report By “Awesome TV”, Swift is planning to take Kelce’s last name, but would still be professionally known as Taylor Swift. The report said that the Blank Space singer valued tradition and may go by “Kelce.” Per sources, she won’t hyphenate or combine names.
Swift’s and Kelce’s potential future children might also adopt the family surname. But the global pop star’s stage name will remain the same. It’s important to note that neither Kelce nor Swift has confirmed these reports.
If Swift indeed takes Travis’ last name, she will join several other celebrities who have done the same. After marrying Jay-Z in 2008, Beyoncé legally became Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, but continues to perform simply as Beyoncé. Kim Kardashian also took Kanye West’s surname, but after the divorce, she reverted to her maiden name. Hailey Bieber, Victoria Beckham, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are some other examples.
Still, it will be interesting to see if the singer decides to go by “Taylor Swift Kelce” or just “Taylor Kelce.”
Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Make First Appearance Since MSG Wedding
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce made their first public appearance since their wedding earlier this month at Madison Square Garden.
According to DeuxMoi, the newlyweds attended the wedding of Kelce’s fellow NFL star JuJu Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Orange County, California. Swift wore a floral Markarian gown while Kelce opted for a black-and-white suit.
This marked their first public appearance as a married couple. Right after the wedding, Swift and Kelce spent quality time in Montana.
It has been an interesting journey for the couple. Their romance began over two years ago after Kelce was left hanging with a friendship bracelet that he wanted to give Swift at her concert. Days later, he described the experience on his New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce.
Kelce and Swift started dating, with the latter even making her way to Chiefs games. Kelce also showed support during her famous Eras Tour all over the world. The couple got engaged in August last year. And on July 3, they exchanged vows in front of 1,000 guests, with the wedding being officiated by actor Adam Sandler.
