The 2026 NFL Draft was surprisingly quiet for the USC Trojans. A total of 256 players were drafted from 75 different colleges around the country in this year’s draft. Several programs sent players in double digits to the NFL.
Ohio State led the group with 11 players being drafted this year. They were followed by Alabama and Texas A&M with 10 players each. Clemson, Miami, and Texas Tech were next on the list with nine players from each program.
The USC Trojans were expecting to see at least six of their players in this year’s draft. However, only three of them made the cut.
Makai Lemon was the top draft prospect from USC this year. He was expected to be a top 15 pick, likely to join the Los Angeles Rams, across several mock drafts and projections. However, he fell to No. 20 in the draft and was picked by the Philadelphia Eagles.
21-year-old Ja’Kobi Lane was the second in line from the USC Trojans at the 2026 NFL Draft. Lane joined the program in 2023 and developed as a wide receiver over the next three years. He was selected in the third round, 80th overall, by the Baltimore Ravens.
Safety Kamari Ramsey, the 21-year-old who transferred to USC in 2024, was the last player from the Trojans camp to be selected at this year’s draft. Ramsey was drafted by the Houston Texans in the fifth round as their 141st overall pick.
Interestingly, Ramsey became the third defensive back from USC signed by the Houston Texans in the last three years. While these three heard their names at the draft, others signed later as free agents.
Six USC Players Signed as Undrafted Free Agents
Even though the USC Trojans only recorded three players going to the NFL through the draft, six more players later signed with teams as undrafted free agents. Three more Trojans have earned rookie minicamp invitations.
Safety Bishop Fitzgerald, who recorded 51 tackles in his one season with the Trojans, signed with the Tennessee Titans. Tight end Lake McRee joined the Pittsburgh Steelers. Keshawn Silver, a former defensive lineman for the Trojans, signed with the New Orleans Saints.
Cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson signed with the Cleveland Browns, Eric Gentry signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, and Anthony Lucas joined the Detroit Lions.
Jaden Richardson, DJ Harvey, and DJ Wingfield have received minicamp invitations from the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Denver Broncos, respectively.
