The New York Giants have a situation on their hands with respect to quarterback Jaxson Dart and defensive star Abdul Carter. The latter recently blasted the Giants quarterback for hosting US President Donald Trump in Suffern, New York, on Friday.
He introduced Trump at a New York rally with a chant and quite the introduction.
“What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here, and without further ado, I’m grateful, I’m honored, I’m pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States America, President Donald J. Trump,” Dart said.
After shaking hands with the US President, the 23-year-old quarterback departed the stage.
It appears Carter came across this video and, at first, thought it was fake, but upon learning it, he indirectly slammed his fellow Giants quarterback.
“Thought this s—t was AI, what we doing man,” Carter posted to X.
Fans and analysts alike are starting to speculate on what this could mean for the Giants’ locker room. Both players were Giants’ first-round picks last year, and their rift online could divide the locker room, as their influence couldn’t be understated.
NFL analyst Cory Mose feels sorry for John Harbaugh, given that he left the Baltimore Ravens to become the head coach of the New York Giants last year.
“I bet Harbaugh is missing Baltimore today,” he wrote.
Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart Are Key Figures in Giants Locker Room
This is not some random players on the Giants roster having differences. These are two big entities on both sides of the ball who are expected to stay with the organization for at least three to four years more.
Penn State’s Carter was drafted third overall, while Dart went at No. 25 in the 2025 NFL draft. Both rookies showed immense potential in their rookie seasons.
Carter, 22, recorded 43 tackles, seven tackles for loss and four sacks in 17 games played. However, the Penn State product faced disciplinary issues and was even benched during the opening drive of the game on one occasion last season.
On the other end, Dart started 12 games as quarterback and appeared in 14, posting a 4-8 record. He completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards, with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also rushed the ball 86 times for 487 yards and nine rushing touchdowns.
