A pro footballer’s wedding is often a celebrity-filled affair, and Atlanta Falcons Star Michael Penix Jr.’s wedding is a good example as several NFL stars were spotted partying. The quarterback tied the knot with his longtime partner, Olivia Carter, on Saturday, with the ceremony and reception both happening around the Atlanta area. Naturally, several of his teammates were spotted.
AJ Terrell, Bijan Robinson, Jessie Bates III, and Drake London were reportedly spotted enjoying the reception, with Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts being on camera duty and recording his teammates enjoying themselves. Other Falcons players were also spotted as they enjoy themselves before training camp.
Penix and his new bride were also there, enjoying the party with family, friends, and the Atlanta Falcons.
Michael Penix Jr. has been out due to a knee injury, with the quarterback still rehabilitating his knee. However, him dancing around with his bride and his teammates is a good sign, which means that he could be nearing his return.
Penix and Carter had been dating for a long time and it all led to him proposing to her on Christmas Eve in 2024. He gave her a romantic proposal filled with red roses with a massive “Marry Me” sign. She said yes, leading to their wedding on Saturday, which was described as romantic but simple.
Since they started dating in 2023, Olivia Carter has been spotted watching Michael Penix Jr. play, supporting her man from the sidelines. She has been a constant fixture for the Falcons and was part of his many highs and lows throughout the season.
Tua Tagovailoa Possibly Gunning For Michael Penix Jr.’s QB1 spot
Meanwhile, as Michael Penix Jr. enjoys his wedding, he may have something to worry about as soon as he gets home from his honeymoon. This is because the Falcons previously added former Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa.
It is clear that there will be a quarterback competition between the two, and the Falcons front office is more than aware of this, with Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham admitting that Tagovailoa will be “coming to compete.” The new Falcons QB was released by Miami after a poor showing last season and is more than eager to prove his doubters wrong.
