“Just Get Rid of the Game at This Point”: Fans React in Disbelief as 41-Year-Old Joe Flacco Makes First Pro Bowl

Joe Flacco was added to the Pro Bowl roster recently. The 41-year-old started his career in 2008 with the Baltimore Ravens. In his decade-long stint with the Ravens, Flacco won a Super Bowl and became the Super Bowl MVP.

Since leaving Baltimore in 2018, he has had eight other stints, including the Cincinnati Bengals, his current team. Flacco has had ups and downs throughout his career, but he never made it to the Pro Bowl.

That changed this year as he is now headed to the Pro Bowl. This season, Flacco represented two teams: the Cleveland Browns until October, and then he was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals. That means the Browns had two QBs who made it to the Pro Bowl this year.

“QB Joe Flacco has been added to the Pro Bowl roster, the first of his career. That also means the Browns had two Pro Bowl QBs this year, with Flacco and Shedeur Sanders,” ARI MEIROV reported.

Fans didn’t like Flacco’s inclusion in the Pro Bowl. The outrage is justified because many argue that his numbers aren’t worthy of the honor.

“Just get rid of the game at this point It’s a charade,” a fan wrote.

“pro bowl is absolutely cooked. maybe the lamest part of the nfl at this point,” a fan wrote.

“what happened to the pro bowl I once loved man,” a fan wrote.

“You can’t make this stuff up,” a fan wrote.

“What in the participation trophy is this,” a fan wrote.

Fans believe that these inclusions are hurting the reputation that the Pro Bowl once held. Late in the season, because of injuries and players making it to the Super Bowl, several replacements have been selected for the Pro Bowl.

Joe Flacco’s Former Teammate is Also in the Pro Bowl

Flacco’s selection comes only days after Shedeur Sanders was selected as Drake Maye’s replacement at the Pro Bowl. Maye has taken the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl and has opted out of the Pro Bowl.

Even Sanders’ selection has been criticized because he wasn’t even on the field for more than half the season. He was the backup quarterback behind Flacco and Dillon Gabriel.

“When you talk about how did Shedeur make it and they ain’t even got Trevor Lawrence? Man, look, bro, it’s a popularity contest at the end of the day. Because it’s still a business,” Cam Newton said about Sanders’ inclusion.

Whether the criticism is valid will continue to be debated, but Flacco and Sanders have added Pro Bowl honors to their resume.
