Though the Buffalo Bills’ season is over following a Divisional Round overtime playoff loss to the Denver Broncos, quarterback Josh Allen was recently spotted on crutches with a foot injury.
Bills’ reporter Ty Dunne posted a picture on X this morning of Allen seen with crutches during Joe Brady’s introductory press conference.
Per Bills’ reporter Alaina Getzenberg, Allen said that he broke a bone in his foot, specifically his fifth metatarsal. He had that cleaned up on Monday and said it was a re-aggravated injury that he suffered against the Cleveland Browns. Allen also added though he is in pain, if his team had a game this week, he would find a way to play.
Per Ian Rapoport, Allen’s procedure has a recovery time of 8-10 weeks.
Josh Allen Injury History
Since entering the NFL in 2018, Josh Allen has had his fair share of injuries. However, only one out of his eight injuries has caused him to miss time.
Allen’s first injury came early in the 2018 season, when he suffered an elbow sprain, forcing him to miss four games. The next season, Allen suffered a concussion in Week 4 against the New England Patriots but played the next week.
Allen dealt with a turf toe injury during the 2021 season and played through an elbow tear in 2022.
During the 2024 season, Allen suffered two injuries- an unspecified hand injury to his non-throwing hand and an elbow sprain towards the end of the regular season in Week 16.
This past season, Allen suffered back-to-back foot injuries in Week 16 and 17, but again, showed his toughness and played through the injuries.
With a full offseason to recover and get healthy, Allen should be good to go for the start of next season for the Buffalo Bills.
